57 LNG boxships delivered so far

by Port News Editorial Staff

Last week, Mediterranean Shipping Company took delivery of MSC VERONA, a 16,000 TEU LNG-fuelled Neo-Panamax (MNPX) vessel.

It is the second, after the MSC SIENA, of twelve sisterships built by the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group (YZJ).

This latest newbuilding brings the total number of LNG boxships delivered in 2024 to 57.

CMA CGM is the company with the largest number of LNG-powered dual-fuel containerships. It owns 62 of them.

MSC is in second place, both in terms of the number of ships and their overall capacity.

ZIM, with 24 LNG ships, comes in third.
