Seaspan Corp has commissioned a Chinese shipyard to build ten 7,000 TEU vessels, bringing its order book over the past ten months to 70 vessels, with a total capacity of 839,000 TEUs.
The order book includes two 24,000 TEU Ultra Large Containerships and twenty-five 7,000 TEU vessels, 15 of which are dual-fueled LNG units.
The latest order is worth USD 1 billion. All 10 boxships will be equipped with scrubbers. The first deliveries are due in the second quarter of 2024.
