In September, schedule reliability in container shipping improved by 0.6 percentage points over the previous month to 34%.
Sea-Intelligence sees the glass as half full. In their opinion, the fact that schedule reliability has so far fluctuated during the year between 34 and 40%, not falling further below the minimum threshold, is already encouraging.
It should be added, however, that, compared with September 2020, reliability has fallen by 22%. The average delay in arrivals, which improved marginally in the month under unvestigation, is now 7.27 days.
In September, Maersk Line again proved to be the most reliable carrier, at 44.2%. This was followed by Hamburg Süd at 37.3%. Two lines recorded a 30% -40% reliability four others between 20% and 30%. Six companies ranked below 20%.
