DP WORLD has signed a 30-year agreement with the Saudi Arabian Port Authority to build a logistics park at the Islamic port of Jeddah.
The project is worth 133 million dollars. The aim is to build a 415,000 sqm district park with a container depot capacity of up to 250,000 TEUs and a 100,000 m2 storage area.
The new facility will enhance Jeddah Islamic Port’s re-export activities, reducing logistics time and costs for importers and exporters. It will also provide an integrated service platform linking port operations with last-mile activities, providing temperature-controlled storage for goods, as well as their processing, labelling, consolidation and deconsolidation.
The project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic development targets, which include the development of a thriving and sustainable maritime transport ecosystem that supports the Kingdom’s socio-economic ambitions.
