Today Fincantieri delivered the Viking Neptune, the new cruise ship for the Viking shipping company, to the Ancona shipyard.
The 47,800 dwt vessel has been fitted with 465 cabins and can accommodate up to 930 passengers on board
The Viking Neptune, the ninth in its class,“marks a quantum leap in the long-standing cooperation between Viking and Fincantieri for designing, delivering and operating environmentally considerate cruise ships.”
Fincantieri reports that it has installed an experimental hydrogen fuel cell module on board with a nominal power of 100 kW, a solution that the shipbuilding company considers particularly important for the development of technology, rules and regulations on the use of hydrogen on cruise ships.
