In the third quarter of the year, the leading container shipping companies earned a total of 35.6 billion dollars, according to the Danish analysis company Sea-Intelligence, in a report examining the combined EBIT results provided by the major carriers, except for CMA CGM, which did not specify its operating income results.
Overall, the big carriers took home 122 billion dollars in the first nine months of the year, two billion less than the 124 billion they earned in the whole of 2021.
