Amsterdam Port Authority has announced the launch of a project to develop a green hydrogen corridor between the United Arab Emirates and the Western European market.
The project, involving the UAE company Masdar, fuel supplier Skynrg, and storage companies Evos Amsterdam and Zenith Energy Terminals, involves producing hydrogen in Abu Dhabi and exporting it to the Netherlands through the port of Amsterdam.
The signatories plan to supply green hydrogen to the shipping industry as a bunker fuel and will focus on transporting it with liquid organic hydrogen-fueled carriers.
The global green hydrogen market is expected to be worth 72 billion dollars by 2030.
