Tanger Med closed 2022 with a total turnover of 108 million tonnes, up 6% on the previous year.
Container traffic is also increasing. Last year 7.6 million TEUs were handled (+6%), while ro-ro and car traffic were up 13% and 11% respectively.
Dry bulk recorded the largest percentage increase, up 18% to 404,000 tonnes due to higher steel coil and grain traffic volumes.
In 2022, a total of 14,404 vessels called at the Tanger Med port complex, a 32% increase on 2021, including 961 mega-ships over 290 metres long.
