by Port News Editorial Staff

After MSC, Evergreen has also decided to start scrapping its older containerships. Three years after its last sale, the Taiwanese company has sold its Ever Diadem, a 4200 TEU vessel built in 1997 by Japanese shipyards along with nine other containerships of the same type, to Indian shipyards.

Seven of these were sold for scrapping in 2020. According to Lloyd’s List, the Ever Diadem was sold for $510 per tonne.
