Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a new contract with a major electric vehicle manufacturer.
The Norwegian carrier announced the news in a press note. It pointed out that the contract covers land and sea services from Asia to Europe and from Asia to North America and will last until the end of 2025.
The financial details have not been disclosed, but the company said the deal came at rates that reflect the current strong demand and tight balance in the market.
The deal also includes an agreement for the use and payment of biofuels.
The move is part of Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s goal of achieving an integrated zero net emission supply chain service by 2027. The company said it is negotiating with both its long-standing and new clients to ensure that sustainable fuel becomes part of all new contracts.
