Ukrainian drones reportedly hit the Russian port of UST-Luga in the Baltic Sea yesterday, damaging the gas terminal operated by Novateck, one of Russia’s biggest natural gas producers.
The terminal has announced the temporary suspension of operations due to a fire at one of its gas tanks. Workers were evacuated immediately. No casualties have been reported. Four tankers were moored in the port at the time of the attack, but no damage was reported.
According to UK Maritime Security, this is the second drone attack by the Ukrainians against a Russian port. On 18th January, the port of St. Petersburg was hit by debris from an unmanned aircraft.
