At a meeting held at Italy’s Infrastructure & Transport Ministry the Interministerial Committee for Maritime Transport & Port Security unanimously resolved to allow Italian ships to safely resume commercial activities in the Israeli ports of Ashdod and Eliat, which are now back in business again in addition to the already operational Haifa port.
According to Deputy Infrastructure & Transport Minister Rixi:”The decision will allow operators to return to strategic ports for our country’s trade: Haifa, for example, is one of the new ‘Cotton Route’ logistics terminals. This is a breath of fresh air for our shipowners and our ports connected to Israeli ports of call.”
