From the 12th to the 15th March 2024, the ISYL Foundation, in cooperation with the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority and the Maremma & Tyrrhenian Chamber of Commerce, arranged a visit for its ITS TECLOG course students to the Let EXPO trade fair, organized by ALIS and the ‘Quadrante Europa’ freight village in Verona.
The aim of the visit was to learn more about logistics and intermodalism. In fact, the students took part in the various panels and workshops in the trade fair programme focusing on the evolution of the supply chain, the energy and digital transition in the transport industry, and how the world of work is changing and the skills needed for company work placements.
The panels and workshops featured leading international speakers from the maritime, port, logistics, road and rail transport clusters.
During the opening day of the Fair, at the ‘Alis Academy Village’ pavilion, dedicated to ITS, the students received a greeting from the Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini and had a meeting with North Tyrrhenian PNA President Luciano Guerrieri.
The last day was dedicated to a visit to ‘Quadrante Europa’, the second largest freight village in Europe. On this occasion, it was possible to visit, in particular, the Intermodal Terminal and the area dedicated to ‘Veronamercato’.
The student group was accompanied and coordinated by the staff from the PNA’s Training Dept.
“Such initiatives represent fundamental moments for professional growth and allow students to gain an even better understanding of the activities carried out by professionals in the sector,” said PNA Training & Promotion Senior Executive Claudio Capuano.
