The positive trend for multipurpose vessel freight rates is continuing. The Drewry Multipurpose Time Charter Index, which takes into account one-year charters for Mpp ships of various sizes, including breakbulkers and project cargo carriers, in fact recorded a 1.2% monthly increase in June, with daily rates at $9.165 with an additional 0.4% growth to $9.201/day forecasted for July.
If the forecasts for July turn out to be true, the index would be 5.9% higher than the same month last year.
