Box barge hits a bridge in China

Two people dead, one injured and three missing as a result of a container barge crashing into a  bridge south of the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, which caused a section of the bridge road to collapse  along with the vehicles on it.

The accident occurred around 5am on Thursday. Three cars, a bus and a scooter fell off  Lixinsha Bridge, which crosses a waterway near the mouth of the Pearl River. Two of the cars fell into the water and the other three vehicles fell onto the ship. According to local media reports, the authorities have arrested the vesssel’s owner.
