Spot freight rates in the container shipping market have been continuing to fall. This week they were down another 4% on the previous week, settling at an average of $2264 per FEU.
Shanghai – Los Angeles, -9% to $2658 7 FEU, and Shanghai – New York, -7%, to $3774 /FEU recorded the biggest drop in freight rates.
Both the Shanghai – Rotterdam and Rotterdam – New York tariffs fell by 2% to an average of $2463 and $2316 per FEU respectively.
Rotterdam – Shanghai, New York – Rotterdam and Shanghai – Genoa were both down 1% to $484, $846 and $3286 per FEU respectively.
Los Angeles – Shanghai tariffs have remained stable.
