Nine months of success for CMA CGM's facility

Cakung terminal off to a flying start

by Port News Editorial Staff

CMA CGM’s largest container depot in Indonesia has handled 150,000 TEUs since it started operating 9 months ago, handling five times the monthly volume between January and March it did last year.

Cakung’s container depot mainly caters for  exports of raw materials such as paper and rubber, as well as manufactured goods such as garments, footwear and electronic items.

Moreover, the depot will be one of the first in Indonesia to be solar-powered. Indeed, in the second half of 2022, solar panels will be installed to power the facility’s offices and lighting.
