China has signed a Liquefied Natural Gas supply deal with Qatar.
QatarEnergy has announced that it has entered into a 27-year sale and purchase agreement with China Petroleum and Chemical Corp for supplying China with 4 million tonnes of LNG per year.
The gas will come from QatarEnergy’s North Field East LNG expansion project and will be delivered to Sinopec’s terminals in China.
Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, CEO of QatarEnergy, said that the deal would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, while helping to meet China’s growing energy needs.
