1.53 billion tonnes of goods handled

Chinese ports’ record October high

In October Chinese ports handled 1.53 billion tonnes of goods, up 3% over the same month last year. This is a new monthly record.

A total of 27.9 million TEUs were handled in the month under review i.e. + 6.1% year-on-year.

Overall, Chinese ports handled 14.5 billion tonnes of goods in the first ten months of the year, 3.4% more compared to January-October 2023. Container traffic totaled 276.5 million TEUs, up 7.6% year-on-year.
