Two port terminals bought in New York

CMA CGM goes shopping in the US

by Port News Editorial Staff

CMA CGM has signed a deal with GCT Global Container Terminals Inc to purchase two US-owned container terminals, GCT New York and GCT Bayonne, in the Port of New York – New Jersey. The facilities have a combined capacity of 2 million TEUs.

The investment is part of CMA CGM’s strategy to develop its terminal business and increase its presence in the US, where it recently bought back the Fenix Marine Services terminal in the Port of Los Angeles.

Altogether, through CMA Terminals and its joint venture Terminal Link, the French shipping group is present in 52 port terminals located in 28 countries.
