Collision off the coast of India

Two vessels were involved in a collision off the coast of Okha, Gujarat, India.

According to the first reconstructions, the bow of the Atlantic Grace, a 50.000 tonne tanker, got wedged against the loading hatch of a 18.000 tonne dry bulker, the Aviator.

The accident occurred late in the evening of November 26th. The Atlantic Grace, after departing from Kandla, India, was heading to Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

No fatalities or environmental pollution have been reported. According to the ship’s operator, International Seaways, the tanker was not carrying  oil or chemicals at the time of the collision.
