In August, global demand measured in TEUs was up 5.3% year-on-year, according to Container Trade Statistics (CTS).
This is the fifth consecutive 5% – 6% monthly increase.
On the other hand, demand in terms of TEUs in relation to miles travelled continues to be severely affected by the Red Sea crisis.
In August, there was a 25% year-on-year increase in global demand. Compared to the same month in 2019, demand in TEU/Miles was up by 41%.
