Greece is currently the South Korean shipbuilding industry’s top customer, according to a report by Clarkson Research Service.
Specialized magazine www.hellenicshippingnews.it reports that Greek owners have placed orders for a total of 52 newbuildings and a total of 2.05 million Gross Compensated tonnes (CGT) with shipbuilding companies in the Asian country during the year
This is the equivalent of 20% of the orders secured by South Korean shipyards in 2022.
Japan came in second placing a total of 22 orders, followed by Norway, with orders for 14 new ships from South Korean yards.
