Hapag Lloyd has become part of the Spinelli Group, with the acquisition of a 49% share.
The news, which was first disclosed yesterday by Secolo XIX and www.shippingitaly.it, has been confirmed this morning by the German carrier in a press release stating that the parties preferred not to disclose the financial details of the agreement.
The German shipowner has acquired 45% of the company from the investment fund Icon Infrastructure, which is therefore no longer in the picture. The remaining 4% was purchased by the Spinelli family, which still holds a 51% stake.
