From now on, the port of Hamburg will refuse to handle any container coming from or going to Russia. This was announced by the terminal operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA), which operates four terminals in the German port of call.
HHLA says its decision a result of the need to strengthen the economic sanctions that the European Union has imposed on Moscow.
HHLA added that the restrictions will be extended to all goods transported by rail, truck and barge.
