Showcasing in Munich

Italian ports at Transport Logistic

by Port News Editorial Staff

This week representatives from the Italian port industry are back at the Italian Port stand in Munich taking part in one of the world’s most important fairs in the logistics sector. It has been becoming increasingly popular for some time now. This year Transport Logistic has nearly 2,500 exhibitors with an average of 50,000 visitors per day.

It has been an intense 4 days with numerous meetings with industry operators, and delegations on institutional visits.  Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi performed the “ribbon cutting” ceremony to open the Italian Port stand. Likewise, the Italian Ambassador to Germany H.E. Armando Varricchio paid an official visit with the Port Network Authority presidents.

“As I have already said on previous occasions, after this type of initiative having had be called off over the last few years, we are finally back together again at this important event,” Assoporti President Rodolfo Giampieri commented.

“Italy is located right at the heart of the Mediterranean, which, as is well known, is back at the centre of trade routes. We want to be proactive in this transformation phase and position ourselves as the country’s port and logistics system. Now is the right time to promote and communicate the potential of our industry in the best possible way, especially internationally. The level of interest shown by institutions, and operators who visited our stand demonstrates that we are working in the right direction,” Mr. Giampieri concluded.
