Japanese company K Line announced that it has successfully tested a marine biofuel produced from waste on one of its car carriers.
The biofuel, made from organic resources such as biomass or waste residues like cooking oil used by restaurants, was supplied by major British Petroleum and was used on the Polaris Highway in early November.
K Line has set an interim goal of improving its emission efficiency by 50% by 2030 compared to its 2008 levels.
