K LINE is to expand its fleet with eight new dual fuel car carriers that can also run on Liquefied Natural Gas.
This was disclosed by the specialized newspaper Lloyds List, in a news item pointing out that the mega order was awarded to three shipyards: the Japanese Nihon, Shin Kurushima and the Chinese Jinling.
The contract is worth over 660 million dollars and is part of the Japanese shipping group’s planned decarbonization strategy. The 7,000 CEU vessels are expected to be delivered between March 2024 and March 2026.
