The Port Network Authority has taken a step forward towards the construction of the new bridge crossing the Navicelli Canal at the Calata del Magnale. The final and executive project design for the construction of the new infrastructure, which will replace the old swing bridge, now at the end of its lifespan, has been adjudicated.
The current bridge was built in the 1950s by Officine Meccaniche Lenzi. The rotation mechanism has been inactive since the 1970s. The bridge has deteriorated to such an extent that it needs to be completely replaced. The estimated cost of the new bridge is approximately 1.1 million euros.
The project design tender has been awarded to the Rete Temporanea di Impresa Smart Engineering Srl/Hydrogea Vision Srl at a cost of almost 50,000 euros.
