The North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority is one of the 19 winners of the TAP (Tutoring e Accompagnamento Progetti) initiative, the mentoring and on-the-job training scheme aimed at cultural institutions, public and private bodies, and cultural heritage curators and managers, promoted by the Fondazione Scuola dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali.
The port administration responded to the call by putting forward its Blue Mile project through which it plans to digitally promote and enhance Livorno port’s cultural heritage by setting up a web platform where users can learn more about its centuries-old history and interact with it.
In the coming months, the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority’s project team will be assisted by specifically selected experts and professionals from outside the organization, to enable the authority to strengthen its digital skills and implement the project by the end of 2025.
TAP was conceived with a view to facilitating the successful completion of innovative projects using digital technology for managing and enhancing cultural heritage. It is a Dicolab. Culture- to- Digital training programme, promoted by the Ministry of Culture – Digital Library and implemented by the Foundation as part of the PNRR Culture 4.0 investment – in support of the important National Cultural Heritage Digitalization Plan.
TAP’s call for projects was launched last April and was received with great enthusiasm by organizations and institutions of all shapes and sizes from all over Italy.
