MSC bets on Asia-Mexico trade

by Port News Editorial Staff

Greater capacity on the trade route between Asia and Mexico. Over the last few days MSC announced a new autonomous shuttle service between South China and the Mexican ports of Lazaro Cardenas and Manzanillo.

The Dahlia Service will be launched on 3rd August with the departure of the 5600 TEU MSC Floriana VI from Shekou with the following port rotation: Shekou-Xiamen-Shanghai-Busan-Manzanillo-Lazaro Cardenas.

The Loadstar reports that new services from Asia to Mexico have begun over the last few weeks. The Central American country is in fact now used as an alternative gateway for Chinese goods heading for the USA.
