MEDITERRANEAN Shipping Co has confirmed an order for 10 neo-panamax dual-fuel containerships at Zhoushan Changhong International shipyard.
The 11,500 TEU vessels can operate with liquefied natural gas. They are expected to be delivered in 2025-2026. The newbuilds are to be fitted with Type C LNG tanks and will be designed to also run on methanol.
The new ships will cost around 120 million dollars each.
