The North Tyrrhenian PNA is the first Port Authority to be awarded UNI/PDR 125:2022o Gender Quality Certification, which defines the guidelines for implementing a gender equality-oriented management system.

The award was issued by the Certiquality certification body. It testifies to the progress the Port Network Authority has made in analyzing and implementing policies aimed at equal treatment in the workplace and while performing its institutional tasks.

“We are very proud of this achievement,” said PNA President Luciano Guerrieri. “The certification we have been awarded today is the result of a strategic process, coordinated by the Joint Committee for Equal Opportunity’s precious contribution, aimed at making diversity and inclusion one of the essential pillars of professional well-being,” he added

According to the Authority’s Managing Director, Matteo Paroli, this certification “marks a significant moment in our history. It strengthens our role as a leader in the port and maritime sector in terms of gender policies. Being awarded this certification represents an important starting point. Now we have to resolutely continue the innovative process we have been pursuing.”

Over the next few months, the Joint Committee for Equal Opportunity, led by Senior Executive Antonella Querci, will organize meetings with cluster companies to set up coordinated initiatives to promote gender equality in the sector. One of the objectives is to launch a mentoring training programme both internally and externally, dedicated to supporting women in progressing towards managerial and executive positions.
