The Chinese port of NINGBO-Zhoushan is to invest $922 million to build a new container terminal with an annual handling capacity of 2 million TEUS.
The new facility will have a 950-meter-long quay, able to accommodate 24,000 TEU boxships.
Including the construction period, the investment amortization time is estimated to be about 19.2 years.
Ningbo-Zhoushan is the third largest container port in the world after Shanghai and Singapore. It handled 35.3 million TEUs in 2023, 5.8% more than the previous year.
