In the fourth quarter of 2022, OOCL saw its revenues drop by 34.8 % year-on-year to 3.18 billion dollars.
Revenues per TEU handled fell by 30.9%. The shipping line’s performance on the transpacific trade between Asia and Europe suffered, with outward voyages down by 43.4% and return voyages by 46%.
Intra-Asia trades recorded a 25.2% drop in revenue. Good news, however, came from transatlantic link services, with revenues up by 27.6% to 383.2 million dollars.
Overall, the shipping line closed 2022 with a 19.1% growth in earnings, to 18.7 billion dollars.
