The Port of Piraeus closed the first nine months of the year with a 7.8% increase in container traffic. A total of 502,000 TEUs were handled, including 386,945 in transhipment.
Cruise traffic is also booming. Between January and September, 632,000 passengers transited along the port’s quays, three times as many as the previous year, while ship calls were up 88%.
Ferry traffic registered a 30% increase in passengers and 12.8% more vehicles. Car traffic, on the other hand, was down 14.9% compared to the same period in 2021.
Overall, between January and September, the port saw revenues grow by 25.9%, to 52.7 million dollars. After-tax profits increased by 62%, to $47.1 million.
