Record U.S. imports. According to the forecasts of the National Retail Federation (NRF), published yesterday afternoon in the monthly Global Port Tracker report, the American ports could close the year with imports totaling 26 million TEUs, an 18.3% increase on 2020. If confirmed, this would be the highest figure since 2002, when the NRF began tracking imports.
The growth rate is reportedly also the highest on record, topping the +16.7% in 2010, when the economy recovered from the Great Recession.
