RINA goes shopping in the US

by Port News Editorial Staff

The inspection, certification and engineering consultancy multinational, RINA, announced the acquisition of the entire share capital of Patrick Engineering, a Chicago-based engineering consultancy firm operating mainly in the infrastructure, transportation and renewable energy sectors.

Patrick Engineering, with gross revenues of approximately $82 million, 340 employees and 19 offices in north-east America, will be fully integrated into Rina Consulting, the Group’s engineering subsidiary.

RINA President and CEO Ugo Salerno explained that, thanks to Patrick Engineering and the expertise of their new American colleagues, RINA will have a unique opportunity to grow in the thriving North American infrastructure market. Moreover, the acquisition will also give the multinational a platform to expand not only in the sector but in all business areas, making the US one of its main hubs. RINA will also be able to export its highly specialized expertise in materials, laboratory testing and innovative technologies overseas.
