by Port News Editorial Staff

One seafarer was killed and three others injured after a Russian missile hit a Liberian-flagged bulk carrier approaching one of the Black Sea ports in the Odessa region.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure, the ship which was transporting iron ore to China was hit during an attack on Odessa port’s infrastructure.

The victim and the other three casualties are all Filipino nationals.  This is the 21st Russian attack on the port’s infrastructure since Ukraine left the Black Sea Grain Initiative in July.
