Seoul’s new logistics support move

by Port News Editorial Staff

900 TEUs to be set aside each week for small and medium-sized shippers. This is the move devised by the South Korean government to try to curb rising logistics costs.

The measure will be implemented by the South Korean liner operators, HMM, SM Line and Korea Marine Transport Company (KMTC Line). 680 TEUs will be reserved for shipments to the West Coast of the United States; 50 TEUs each for cargo going to the East Coast of the United States and Europe; and 120 TEUs for cargo bring shipped from South Korea to South-East Asia
