Drewry’s World Container Index composite is up 9% on the previous week to 1661 dollars per 40-foot box. However, it remains 22% lower than the same week a year earlier.
Shanghai – Rotterdam freight rates have increased 16% to $1667 /FEU. Shanghai – Genoa rates also rose by 15% on the previous week to $ 1956/FEU.
Shanghai-New York rates also rose by 8%, to $3074/FEU, while tariffs on Shanghai-Los Angeles, Rotterdam-Shanghai and Los Angeles-Shanghai routes increased by 6%, 3% and 1% respectively, to $2100, $466 and $774 per FEU.
Rotterdam – New York Freight rates are up 2% on a weekly basis, to $1480/FEU, while freight rates on the New York – Rotterdam route remained stable.
