4 dead: 3 victims + assassin who killed himself

Shooting at European Navigation

by Port News Editorial Staff

Three people died in a shooting at the European Navigation company’s headquarters  in Athens.

A man, a 76-year-old Egyptian citizen, probably a former employee, opened fire, killing the sister of company founder, Spyros Karnessis, managing director Antonios Vlassakis, and an accounts department employee, Elias Koukoularis.

Some sources report that the murderer had recently been fired by the company. He was called ‘Aris’ but his real name was El Burai. Apparently, he had been the caretaker of the Karnessis family home in Petaliou for years.

The former employee allegedly killed himself immediately after the carnage. His body was found in the basement of the building.

Greek authorities are currently investigating the tragedy.
