Livorno PNA in Rotterdam at the top digitalization event of the year

Smart Vision 2024, training is innovation

by Port News Editorial Staff

The North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority recently attended Smart Vision Experience 2024, the top port innovation and digitalization event, organized in Rotterdam by STC Group, a maritime-port-logistics education and training institute.

The Port Network Authority Training & Promotion Dept took part in the initiative led by senior executive Claudio Capuano. On the occasion they illustrated the results  so far in the European NeXTraIn.PortS project co-financed by the Erasmus+ 2021/2027 programme.

As project-leader, the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority officially launched the 36-month project in Livorno last April. The aim of the initiative is to map out port sector professional profiles, focusing, in particular, on energy and digital transition, setting up  training programs for professions requiring upgrading, defining new methodologies for the recognition of acquired skills, and organizing mobility initiatives/programs for 100 workers in project partner ports.

The Port Authority was also able to take part in ‘MICOO Hackathon,’ a workshop promoted by the vice-president of the European association EFVET, Stefano Tirati, and focused on the topic of micro-credentials and the certification of skills required in the intermodal sector.

“The initiative our PNA took part in marks another top-level event in which Livorno port had the opportunity to exchange views with the port of Rotterdam, consolidating the long-term collaboration with STC Group within the framework of EU professional training projects” Mr. Capuano said.
